Making a video is such a funny concept. Why is it funny? Because you can make a video about literally anything. Are you running a political smear campaign for the upcoming election? Did your cat do something funny that you think could go viral? Are you looking to immortalise your wedding for the years to come? You can do all of it with video – and more.
You can pretty much do anything with video, assuming you have editing and filming skills. If not, you probably can’t do much unless you hire a video production company. Melbourne, as the art capital of Australia, has plenty of them. It makes it easy for joe-average people like you and I to create videos, because we don’t have to have the skills to turn our ideas into something ourselves.
Why am I writing about this? I’m not too sure, really. I was just thinking about all the types of videos there are in the world and started writing. Seeing as this is my personal blog, I don’t need to write anything particularly structured or with meaning. I could turn this blog into a video and because then it would be my own personal video, it wouldn’t need to have a structure either. That’s the beauty of videos – they can be as perfect or as abstract as you want.
All this talk about videos has made me want to talk to a company offering post production services to see if they’ll edit a video together for me. I have done all the filming myself (I’ve been filming my cat do funny things for years now), so I just need an expert or two to put it all together. I could try but I wouldn’t be able to produce anything anywhere near as good as someone who actually works in video production could.
If I decide to go ahead with the cat video idea, I’ll let you know how it goes!
