My boyfriend and I are going on a holiday this week! It’s Monday today and we leave on Friday, which is so exciting. I’m trying not to get too excited about it in case it gets cancelled, which happened three times last year for various reasons, but deep down part of me is ready and raring to go.
The most exciting thing is that we’ll be having a break from work. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a break, other than Christmas. It’s been over three years since I’ve even been on a plane. That’s such a long time! Before this unfortunate break, I was pretty much going on a plane every year.
While I’m away on holidays, I’m going to book an appointment with a tattooist. Brisbane has plenty of them, and really good ones at that. I like to get a tattoo whenever I go on a holiday, to remind myself of the fun times that I’ve had. A lot of people like to collect Christmas ornaments or shot glasses, but myself on the other hand – I like to collect tattoos.
My entire body is a canvas for the fantastic places I’ve visited. Every tattoo represents a time and a place in my life, something that I really loved and enjoyed. For this particular tattoo, I’d like to get it done by a realism tattoo artist. In the Brisbane area everything is so real and vibrant and I want that to be accurately reflected in my piece. It would be a shame to get another tattoo style when the beauty of Brisbane is enough to make any tattoo lover swoon.
I hope that my boyfriend and I have a really nice holiday. I definitely think we will – we just have to get there first! Once we’re on the plane I know that we’re going to have the best time ever. Yay!
